Money TreeSkipton Building Society are 160 years old, and to celebrate this, they’ve created the Big 160 Appeal which will provide 160 grants of £500 to assist grassroots groups across the country.

If you have an event planned for your community and are struggling for funding then why not apply here?

Apply by 31st July 2013 for up to £500

They’re looking for community based groups, and will consider any proposal, with preference given to organisations who struggle to access mainstream funding and receive little support elsewhere.

Blagden Farm TRA – Christmas Fair

On Monday 26th November Blagden Farm held a Christmas Fair at the Sheltered Housing Complex on Edale Avenue at Newsome.

The event was a huge success with over 60 people attending on the day.

Children from Newsome High School served the guests with a buffett lunch and there were stalls selling cakes, bric a brac and a tombola.

The local police and all three ward cllrs attended the event and Cora Carter MBE (KFTRA Chair) and Bev Taylor (KFTRA Fieldworker) womanned  the Tombola Stall.
